I’ve had several ask me how to include turmeric in their diet. Turmeric provides antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial benefits while also supporting digestion (by stimulating bile production). It also provides a slew of benefits including reducing risk of heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, depression, and arthritis. I thought I’d share with you my favorite recipe that includes turmeric. What’s yours?
GOLDEN MILK (Turmeric Milk)
1 cup unsweetened almond, coconut, or raw milk
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp cinnamon
generous dash of vanilla
raw local honey or pure maple syrup to taste (optional)
Gently heat milk over medium heat until boiling. Add remaining ingredients and drink as soon as it’s cool enough.
