I'm Amy Gonzalez.

Hey y'all!

body.

But, the story doesn't end there.

i went from following the "nutrition rules" to... tired and frustrated.

As a Registered Dietitian and Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I use an approach that combines real foods, mindful eating, and functional nutrition

I was not eating the correct foods for my body. I knew there was more to life and I was not stepping in to my full potential.

Frustrated, I furthered my study in functional nutrition and dove in to the research. I started to learn how to use foods to heal my body from the inside out. I discovered the root cause to my acne and fatigue. I finally learned how to NOURISH my body, healing it from the inside out.

And the best part? Food was fun again! I finally felt freedom around food on top of the increased energy and feeling more present with my family and in relationships.

Through my own journey, I was able to reclaim a part of myself that I felt as though I'd lost, enabling me to live up to my full potential.

And I want this for you too.

When my oldest son was just a little one, I was in his playroom when I could hardly keep my eyes open. He wanted me to play with him, but I thought if I could just sneak in a quick nap while he was busy with his building blocks, then I could wake more rested and be able to give him my full attention.

My son just wanted to be with ME and here I was… tired and short-tempered with my family. I was also struggling with acne - something I was told as a teenager I’d eventually “grow out of.”

This was not how I had envisioned myself being as a mother. I didn’t even recognize myself anymore.

The kicker is that as a Registered Dietitian, I was eating what I thought was healthy. I was following the "nutrition rules".... you know, that low fat, high carb diet that the government says we should be eating. This one-size-fits-all approach wasn’t working for me.

One

In my spare time you may find me on a nature trail with my two sons. I love to be outside - as long as the weather is warm.

Two

Believe it or not, I was the pickiest eater as a child! My diet is much more adventurous now, including all the veggies, beef liver, beet kvass, and sushi. (But hey, I still have my limits. Oysters - eww.)
